The visionary Philanthropists of Sri Vidya Mandir Higher Educational Trust founded SVMC in Katteri in the year 2000, with the noble aim of uplifting economically and educationally backward Dharmapuri & Krishnagiri districts.
Located on a sprawling 50-acre campus surrounded by the Eastern Ghats, the college functions with a strength of around 4,300 students and 150 faculty members. Recognised by UGC under 2(f) & 12(B), awarded NAAC 'A' Grade (CGPA 3.27) in 2015, and granted Autonomous Status from 2020–21.
