ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

 

The Department of Commerce is one of the most good and bright branch of study.  It was started in the year of 2000, the PG Department of Commerce was started in the year 2007.  One of the mile stone of our department, Research Department of Commerce was established in the year of 2012.  The department inculcates business knowledge along with some moral values. In every aspect the Department of Commerce is an enthusiastic shining star of the college.

The Department of Commerce well enough to clinch one Gold Medal and twelve university ranks from the year 2010-11 in the UG Level, 1 Gold Medal and 13 university ranks in the PG Level and 2 Gold Medal and 7 university ranks.  The department functions with nearly 450 students in the UG Level and 50 students in the PG Level.

Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of Bachelor of
Commerce Course shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary
Examination (Academic or Vocational Stream) conducted by the Government of
Tamil Nadu (or) an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate,
subject to such conditions as may be prescribed thereto.

 

B.COM CA

Candidates seeking admission to the first year B.Com. – Computer Applications, shall
be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Government
of Tamilnadu with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or computer science or statistics or
Business statistics as one of the subjects or an examination of any other university or
authority accepted by the Syndicate of Periyar University as equivalent thereto.

Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the Master of
Commerce degree course shall possess
(a) B. Com / B. Com (CA) or
(b) Any other degree with one paper in Accountancy.
